BSNL s 2G data Plans

Have a look at the BSNL's 2G plans explained here .However
the 2G plans are not comfortable for heavy internet users.
Moreover nowadays broadband itself is available at
very comfortable rates by several ISPs.On the other
part, for those who are always on move (be inside the city
or other) this is a real gift as GPRS is available with even
low cost mobiles.I know few small business people who need
to check their mails frequently, utilise the GPRS very ideally.
One example I would say, those who need to send estimations/
product brochures etc. can be saved as draft in their gmail or
other mail box- using their internet at office or home. When
such a mail is to be sent to a client, it can
simply be forwarded from their mobile whenever they want to,as
the affordability to subscribe for Blackberry mobile/ 3G mobile/Laptop
is not necessary in such cases. This Ideal is useful when there is a
electricity break too!!
Important: The speed of the 2G is now under EDGE , i.e.,
approximately around 230 kbps maximum. But the fact is that even
2G connection used with a 3G mobile or 3G data card can get the same 3G speeds (over 1 Mbps). Even in chennai it was so, during May 2010 for a couple of weeks, and later it has gone back to normal speed. This control is in the hands of the Service Provider. You might have seen a comment from U.P -in this blog about the same.In North India, you find 2G SIMcard users with 2G plans get over 1.5 Mbps. I request people from that part to write regarding this....
